KZN The Office of the Premier (OTP)
The mission of the Office of the Premier is to support the Premier in carrying out his constitutional and statutory duties. The Department fulfils this mission primarily by assisting the Premier in:
- Professionally executing the departmental mandates;
- Coordinating and facilitating macro-provincial and transversal issues;
- Promoting co-operative good governance;
- Providing the highest quality of analysis and advice;
- Creating policy relating to regulations, information and legislation; and
- Supporting the Executive Branch of the provincial government in executing laws and policies.

KZN Department of Economic Development (DED)
The KwaZulu-Natal DED aims to be the leader in economic development and be globally competitive, thereby ensuring improved quality of life for our citizens by formulating and implementing effective economic development strategies that create sustainable jobs in KwaZulu-Natal.

Department of Local Government and Traditional Affairs (DLGTA)
The Department’s Strategic Goals are:

KZN Department of Transport (DOT)
The department’s mission is to provide the public with as safe, integrated, regulated, affordable and accessible transportation system, and ensure that, in delivering on our mandate, we meet the developmental needs of our province, and promote transparent and accountable government, plan in accordance with the needs of our customers, and ensure effective, efficient and transparent delivery of services through cooperative governance and the appropriate involvement of the public through regular and accurate reporting.

KZN Department of Sports and Recreation (DSR)
The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Sport and Recreation was promulgated on 25 June 2004 by the Premier of KwaZulu-Natal, Mr J.S. Ndebele. As the first, and only, stand-alone (Provincial) Department in South Africa, the onus has fallen onto this Department to charter the way forward, in terms of the provision of strategic and operational leadership, in order to allow South Africa to take its true place in the Global Sporting Arena.

Trade and Investment KwaZulu-Natal (TIKZN)
Trade and Investment KwaZulu-Natal is a South African trade and investment promotion agency, developed to promote the province of KwaZulu-Natal as an investment destination, and promote trade by assisting local companies to identify markets and export their products. At the helm of the institution is the Chief Executive Officer, Mr Zamo Gwala supported by the board of directors from the key industries in KwaZulu-Natal. The institution also boasts a staff of 34 members skilled in marketing, investment promotion, strategy and research as well as project management.

KwaZulu-Natal Tourism Authority (TKZN)
The KwaZulu-Natal Tourism Authority, which operates under the name Tourism KwaZulu-Natal, is responsible for the development, promotion and marketing of tourism into and within the province. The Authority’s statement of intent and direction is drawn from the mandate vested in the Organisation by the KwaZulu-Natal Tourism Act, 1996 (as amended, including No. 2 of 2002).

KZN Department of Arts Culture and Tourism (DACT)
The Department’s Strategic Objectives are:
- Create awareness of different art forms on the province
- Provide a platform for the development of artistic skills for self-sustainability
- Provision of training and facilities for moral development through cultural participation initiatives which include youth, women and physically challenged
- Provision of access to cultural infrastructure
- Facilitate access to all artistic and cultural programmes for the physically challenged
- Using arts and culture to address the social and health threats brought about by HIV/AIDS and other social ills, incorporating programmes for HDI's
